Rachel K. H. Sherertz
Rachel Sherertz is a Los Angeles based choreographer, dancer and producer.
She is the founder and creator of MERDECNAD(Pronounced merde
[ merd; English maird ] with dance spelled backwards).
Raised in Queens, New York, she was a student at Bernice Johnson dance studio. There she was given the tools to continue onto Dance Theater of Harlem and Harlem School of the Arts. At DTH, she had the great fortune of being mentored to audition and be accepted into F.H. La Guardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, also known as the “FAME” school. While in H.S., Rachel was a fellowship student at The Ailey school. She then was accepted to University of North Carolina School of the Arts for her undergrad degree in Dance. Throughout her career, she has worked with and alongside Juel D. Lane, Camille A. Brown, Andrea E. Woods/Souloworks to name a few, and has also created her own dance works.
She taught contemporary dance and creative movement for the prep program at UNCSA.
She is a mother to two amazing boys and married to one of the dopest filmmakers.
Rachel just completed her Masters in Fine Arts in dance at Hollins University and is beginning her new journey in pursuit of influencing the dance world and bringing artists together in new ways, all while continuing to be the best domestic engineer she can be to her budding family.

Merdecnad is a contemporary dance company founded by Rachel K. H. Sherertz. The company is a one woman production, manifested to allow the expansion of creative desires while navigating the complexities of being a wife, mother and woman.
Merdecnad provides an outlet to creating works of art that reflect and push the boundaries of art imitating life.
The company will also collaborate with dance, film, music, and visual artists to heighten, unite and tell stories of life’s joys and mysteries that accompanies us along this journey we call life.
